This week we had our very first workshop class with kids.
We started with homework that was to find everything that remind us French culture and the kids did a very good job on that one we had a flower from Canada, French cookies , a French bread (bagette) and a French cheese. We gave kids time to go over their book to get some incomplete job done.
I went over the different meals of the day with kids; breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. And we review times by saying the different time we are actually taking those different meals. maddie and Hillary went over the food vocabulary. Vegetables, fruits and different varieties of foods we can actually have at the café.
The kid were very interesting, I feel like the more we are teaching, the better connection we create with them and also we feel more comfortable standing in front of them and teach. Ones again it’s a result of team work.

I never thought to give homework but in the debriefing it sounds like homework went really well. I think that if we had tried that with the younger students it wouldn't have gone as well.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed in the Monday class that as the weeks passed we had a better relationship and familiarity with the kids that made teaching easier. Not only did it make us more comfortable but I also think it made the kids more receptive because after awhile they didn't have to focus on getting to know us anymore, so they could just learn.
