We finally made
Last Tuesday was a last class with kids. The only thing we had on the schedule was a general review.
As homework, kids had to find any question that they need answer, and it was really fun to do because they come up with some interesting questions.
Middie and Hillary went over the body part, that was a review and the part that kids were waiting was the twister game that we all enjoyed. Right after that we learned a French song `` Alouette’’ so that kids can leave the course with a good souvenir.
We decided to finish the course with a little cocktail we offer some French food to kids’ which we all enjoyed even if it was a little spicy. We gave them certificate of completion for basic French course to remember the good moment we have spent together and a set of French CD song.
All this happened because we have worked as a team and I will like to thank Maddie and Hillary for their great sense of organization, Mike for the great ideas and his participation and all the kids for their interest and patience. I will not forget professor BAllah for manage us during this great experience .

This week we had our very first workshop class with kids.
We started with homework that was to find everything that remind us French culture and the kids did a very good job on that one we had a flower from Canada, French cookies , a French bread (bagette) and a French cheese. We gave kids time to go over their book to get some incomplete job done.
I went over the different meals of the day with kids; breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. And we review times by saying the different time we are actually taking those different meals. maddie and Hillary went over the food vocabulary. Vegetables, fruits and different varieties of foods we can actually have at the café.
The kid were very interesting, I feel like the more we are teaching, the better connection we create with them and also we feel more comfortable standing in front of them and teach. Ones again it’s a result of team work.

On Tuesday we had our second workshop class after the one we had last week it was fun, our schedule had the revision, French history and the fashion show.
We started the class by giving the kids and activity to revise seasons lesson that we learned last week, kids had to match pictures with seasons. After that we went over French history witch is the part I personally did with mike, and I emphasize on the Cameroonian culture and language my original country and we inventoried the French countries around the world.
The last part but nor the least was the fashion show Hillary and maddie went over the clothes words with kids then after that we had our fashion show
Each kids had to pick amount the clothes what they wanted to have on, and during the show they had to the name of all the clothes they had on in French. I had to do the fashion show by wearing African dress to show kids the difference of culture and gave them the name in French. We finish the class by giving the kids their first assignment which was to fine everything that the think can symbolize French. It was a fun class but it went by fast. Wish it can be longer than that.

On Tuesday we had a great class despite the fact that we had only 3 students because one of the students was sick;
We started by revising what we did in previous class to refresh the kids mind, and then we move on to the new material. During this class we learned numbers, and time, season.
Each teacher had to pick one season to teach that make our class more relevant.
The part that I had to do was to teach the summer season; I had to incorporate activities which were part of our lesson last week to help kids combine one lesson to another. I feel like after 3 week of teaching we have improved the way to teach everybody feeling the material and were contributed at any time during the class. The kids were also motivated and they were remembering the old material they learned n the previous class that gave us the desire to improve our capacity to transmit our knowledge In French; that does not mean make it hard for them but to find the easier way to teach and to make them learn.

My classmates and I we meet last Tuesday after two weeks of holyday thanks god for stopping the snow so we can get back to the normal routine. Last Tuesday we taught on different themes, such as Family, animals, and hobbies. I personally did the part on family it was particularly fun even if it did not cover all members of the family because I didn’t want to go over the time, I have limit the study on the restricted family mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, and grandfather. Kids were reacting positively and comparing to the first day of teaching all of them were focused and were participating. It was hard for me to get in the subject maybe because of the long period of inactivity but the enthusiasm of the kids helped kept me awake.
During the teaching my classmates come up with a great activity that help kids to learn the names of animal, slid kids in tow groups and hide the sample of animals around the class with names on it and asked kids to find them. That was a good activity good job.

On Tuesday February 2, we have taught on
1- The French alphabet, including pronunciation, illustration and song.
2- Presentation on how to introduce yourself ( bonjour, je m’appelle , give your gender)
3- The different colors in French
4- The basic body part ( left and right feet, and hands)
5- We play twister as activity.
I personally did the presentation chapter how to introduce yourself and the pronunciation on the alphabet chapter. Kids were really exited in the beginning of the class and as a second language the first reaction was positive they all participated with great attention. After the first class I thinks every went well, the first contact was great but we should add more activities to entertain kids and make them really have fun that way it will be more easy for them to learn French.
